Where are you from? I was born in Milwaukee, WI, USA, 1970.

How old are you? 33.

Are you married? No.

Do you have a girlfriend? Not too many.

Why are you bicycling around the world? I'm searching for the mysteries of life. Besides, I'm crazy.

How do you bicycle around the world? I define bicycling around the world as riding the circumference of the earth (40,077 km measured around the equator) without treading the same ground twice (otherwise I could have stayed in San Francisco and bicycled circles around Starbucks. "Make it a half-calf, full-fat cappuccino next time round, sweetheart.") and visiting as many cultures and phenomena as practical.

How many kilometers do you average? My goal is 80 kilometers per day.

How much does it cost? 10, 20 and 30 dollars per day in undeveloped, developing and developed countries respectively. This includes enough money to visit the local attractions and have some fun but excludes airfare and equipment costs. It is possible to tour for as little as 1, 3 and 5 dollars if I bush camp, cook my own food, filter my own drinking water, and wash my laundry by hand.

Who's paying for it? I am. I'm spending my life's savings.

Do you work along the way? I'm riding my bicycle around the world, isn't that enough? Sometimes, I stop to help people plant food, build roads, fix cars, etc. but not for money.
