I am going a bit crazy. Bear with me for a minute
while I try to explain.
I was seeing the number 3 everywhere. Hereês one long
example: You can divide creation into: the individual,
the universe and God. I have noticed that most
religions define the individual as: mind, body and
soul. Freud defines the mind as: id, ego and superego.
And this parallels Christian theology which divides
God into: God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. And 3 main
goals of religion are: enlightenment, atonement, and
immortality, similar to the hippyês movement of love,
peace and happiness. These are opposite of the 7
deadly sins which, I believe can be summarized to 3:
wraith, sloth and lust. The other sins -- envy, pride,
greed and gluttony -- are all forms of lust. Buddhaês
second rule (out of 3) in the path to enlightenment
is: lifeês sorrows are caused by our desires. The
universe is divided into three dimensions: matter,
space and time. Matter is formed of protons, neutrons
and electrons which are formed of other particles
divisible by three. Time is composed of the past,
present and future. Space is defined as length, width
and height or x, y, z. Also, there are three
fundamental forces of nature whose explanation eludes
my intellect. Trust me, if you start looking for the
number 3 -- it is everywhere.
I got caught in this mindset wondering why do I long
to love so much. Love is a form of atonement. Does
this hark back to a desire to be one with your mother,
or is it a more mature desire to be one with the
universe or God. Man and woman unite into one and form
a third, the child. Then I began to wonder, maybe I
really am seeing the number 2. It only requires two
factors to create infinite combinations. For instance,
the binary system (0,1) combines on your computer
screen to form infinite images. If matter and energy,
according to physicists, are the same, then the
universe is comprised of matter or nothing. Something
or nothing? In the concept of nothing is hidden the
possibility of something. Prior to creation,
possibility impregnated the void.
BANG! Something and nothing combine to form
everything. Male-female. Creation-destruction.
Knowing-not knowing. Love-hate. Dead-alive.
Stillness-quickness. Being-not being.
Then I understood without rationally knowing.
Everything is one. The Tao, the Nameless One. God told
Moses, –I am becoming that which I am becoming.”
Creation is destruction. Knowing is not knowing. Being
is not being. Meaning is meaningless. There is only
love. There is no past or future. There is only the
present. Forever now. Infinity is the time it takes
you to read this –word”. Man is God.
(I can't be funny all the time.)
