Scott and Dennis' Tour Du Monde Commences

Dennis and Scott before teary goodbyes, September 6, 2001.
Update from Scott, September 25, 2001:
Hello Everyone,
My first two emails have gone awol. So I am writing you for the first
time
from San Juan Capistrano, just south of LA about 550 miles into our
journey
and just a days away from Mexico.
Things are going well. We visited Yosemite, Kings Canyon National Park
and
Sequoia N.P. My knees are holding rather well even after a 75 mile day
yesterday, though I didn't enjoy that much especially when we descended
into
CA's central valley for the third time and the temperature was 105
degrees
in the shade.
I don't have much to report now. Things have been very similar as tours
in
the past and road conditions have been great. I expect the real journey
to
begin in Mexico. This has only been a dry run, so to speak.
I think that is enough for now until I confirm my emails are going
through.
Happy Trails,
Scott
